Unfortunately, the closest airports to the West Midlands were you can get a flight to Texas seem to be Heathrow or Gatwick.  Not very close I know, but they seem to be the only UK airports with direct flights.  Air France cover a lot of airports in Texas so depending on where you are going you may find it better to fly to Paris and get a connection from there.

The flight mentioned above connects in Newark.

Delta fly direct from Manchester to Atlanta arriving at about 3pm local time. As Atlanta is a major hub airport you can pick up flights to Houston or Dallas Fort Worth from there.
