Former England all rounder, Andrew Flintoff has said that it’s payback time for England.
Australia is under all sorts of trouble in the second Ashes test, and it would take a brilliant effort from their batsmen to save the Test match on the last day. Australia, at the end of 4th day, were 238-4 and they still trial by 137 runs.
It was a weak performance from their players, as most of them were unable to have a serious impact in the Test match. Their bowlers failed to test the English batsmen in the first innings. Their batting was also not up to the mark, as they were dismissed
for 245 on the 1st day. Apart from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 and Michael Hussey, no other batsman has been able to play positively in the second Test and they have found it difficult to convert their starts into big totals. The last day would be an important one for
the Aussies, and if Australia is able to hold their nerves then they will definitely come out on top.
Former English player, Andrew Flintoff was of the view that it there would be no better time for England then this one to gain dominance over the Aussies. Australia is certainly going through one of its weakest patches, as they lost 7 consecutive matches
before the start of the Ashes series. Andrew Flintoff was of the view that this is the lowest he has seen Australia perform as a team. His comments highlight the fact that English players have realised the fact that Australia is not the same consistent team
as it used to be, and England should convert this weakness into their favour.
Andrew Flintoff said that he grew up watching http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 beat England year after year. Australia has always managed an upper hand on the English team in the Ashes, and most of the times they have managed to defeat England in the Ashes. It was the 2005 Ashes
series, in which England regained the confidence of giving a tough battle to the Aussies. They defeated the Aussies at home, in one of the best Ashes series ever played. Flintoff was the main performer for the England side, as he managed to trouble the Aussie
players with his all-round performance.
Andrew Flintoff further said that England must end the Aussie home advantage, as they don’t have much quality bowlers in their line-up. It has been observed that Australian bowling has not been threatening in recent times, and their bowlers have found it
difficult to get opposition out on number of occasions. In the Adelaide Test, most of their bowlers suffered in batting friendly conditions and apart from Ryan Harris, none of them troubled the batsmen that much. Flintoff was of the view that England now has
the opportunity to give the Aussies a taste of their own medicine, and should give Aussies a payback for all the years of Ashes defeats.
