What do you think of flipping coin to make a decision? Is it a good way to make choices? Do you think the outcome is predetermined, or is it a completly unbiased 50/50 chance? What if you decide not to flip the coin at all?

  1. i flipped to answer this question but didn't want to so you get a half assed reply. Whatever you decide should be up to you, s***w the coin

  2. "if  you  choose  not  to  decide  you  still have  made  a  choice"

, "free will"  from the  album  permanent  waves by Rush

  3. Usually people flip a coin because they cannot make a decision or they deem it a fairer decision than that which just one person might make with his/her own bias.

therefore flipping the coin and declaring before the flip what you will or will not decide, then decided when the toss has rendered a decision you could not make.

Is it a good way to make choices, actually I think not-- for in life we truly only have one thing and that is -- complete control over are our choices, why give them to chance?

The outcome is not predetermined, it is chance and chance only, you said it yourself, the odds are even.

And if you decide not to flip the coin at all, well you are the winner, by merely adding the 3rd choice you broke the odds, and your in charged of your destination and not that of chance!  At this point rejoice.

We all are the masters of our souls.  We just refuse to recognize this fact and live in between always wanting someone else (or chance) to make our choices and then be responsible for the outcome too, especially the bad!

  4. that stupid.making a decision by flipping a coin.that's really careless.is better to choose your own decision.you feel more confident.

luck isn't a good decision in life.

  5. It won't matter much, it is just a time passer.

  6. depends if you have a double heads coin or a regular coin lol. but i dont think it is the best way to make a decision.

  7. Flipping a coin is an unbiased 50/50 chance, unlike drawing straws, the shortest straw always looses, at least with a coin the chances are even (50/50).

  8. there is a great book, written by someone who made his living figuring out what chance is all about (in the end it is just chance).

It is called "the black swan"

    Author is Nassim Tabel
