If I flipped a coin, fairly, 2x's in a row, and asked you to choose either Heads or Tails before the 2 flips, and let's say you chose Heads, what would be the odds of your choice of heads coming up in at least one of the two flips?

  1. The possible combinations for two coin flips:

    HH

    HT

    TH

    TT

There is at least 1 head in 3 out of the 4 combinations, so you have a 75% chance of getting at least one head in 2 flips.

That's one way to look at a free throw, but it's mainly a skill thing, and not pure chance like flipping a coin is, so odds cannot really be assigned to it.  Every person has a different chance of making a free throw.
