Question:

Floater in my eye?

I always had floaters but they were only visible when I looked up into the sky. I have had a bigger on for around 2 months now that looks kind of black, I can see it when inside my house. My question is, will it get bigger, could more cells join up and cover my whole eye? Or will it break down in a few months?

  1. I would go to a DOCTOR (MD) . They are more skilled for this purpose.

Floaters are better seen when you look at a clear spot so this is why you see them better when you up into the sky.

Floaters may be confused with retinal problems so , go to your ophthalmologist.

  2. id go to your doctor or optician straight away if you leave it  it could turn serius and maby become blind  or it could be nothing but its better safe than sorry

  3. It may break up. As long as you don't see any bright flashes of lights, you are O.K.  You can still see your eye Doctor to ease your mind.

  4. Floaters in the eye are normal .but if they get large then get checked as it could be retina detachment or other serious problem , So get it checked it may be nothing but at least you know.

  5. Unlikely to get bigger, will never join up.  May change in position in due course.  The floaters normally take place when the globe of transparent jelly gets retracted from your retinal.  They are harmless, and rarely associated with retinal detachment.  If you are concerned, see an eye doctor.
