Question:

Floating air puff!?

I have a floating white puff of air that is always in my room at night when i turn the lights off. My sister swears she can't see it but my cat and dog totally avoid that side of the room. And it only appears when it is totally dark in my room. I don't believe in ghosts, but this thing is starting to scare me. And my mom says i can't sleep with the light on any more but i'm afraid to turn the lights off when it's dark.

Also, there are glowing red eyes that appear in my bathroom when the power goes out and none of my inside animals have red eyes.

Is this normal?

  1. I would have to agree with the other answer...investigate it before you scare yourself into sleeping with the lights on. No worries. Im sure it will all work out. Good Luck

  2. I agree with the rest... you should always investigate the probable before assuming it is paranormal.  There is nothing to be afraid of at all since it has never harmed you.

You would have to describe more about the red eyes for me to comment on them.  Again I would investigate to see what might be happening there IE: what could light be reflecting off of in the room or rooms. (mirror, ceramics, glass, metal)  Sometimes you can find a beam of light with smoke or water mist too.

  3. Your floating air puff is very likely a reflection of light. I remember when I had my own "air puff" in my bedroom and I had no idea what it was. I finally had to get up and trace it. It was a reflection of a streetlight through the trees, through a window, off a mirror and into my room. How about them apples?

I'd recommend that the next time you see it, get up and investigate. Move towards it and see if by standing in a certain place or waving your hands you can make it go away. if you can, you've found what it is -- a shaft of light. Now you can start backing away and tracing where it comes from.

Regarding the red eyes in the bathroom, usually bathrooms have different small appliances plugged in all the time that may have a red indicator light. Chances are that's what you're seeing. But like I said above, go investigating. You'll find your answers and you can also boast that you did it yourself. Have fun and good luck.

  4. I know that this may not be comforting,

but if a ghost is there, it will not care about the lights.

so if you see it only with no lights, then it is likely not a ghost,

sleep well with the lights off, only the living care about the lights,

and I would sleep with a very bright flash light if it would give any comfort.

  5. ghosts!!!!

  6. Don't get yourself all worked up. Ghosts do not go around killing and eating people so relax.  If it is always in the same spot it is most likely just a reflection. When the power goes out get a flashlight and shine it on the red eye so you can see what it really is.
