Flood zone question?

we are gettin a usda loan thru the bank and the house is in the flood zone. we are supposed to close but now the bank says they have to see if the (water) well is in the flood zone. the owners of the house just bought the house 2 yrs ago and it had to of passed all the inspections, right? does it sound like the bank is s******g with us or is this standard?

  1. Nope, it's going to be standard.  Flood zones change, and it's possible that things have changed within the past two years.

  3. One of two things.

    The house had to have passed all appropriate inspections at the time of the last sale.  The only thing would be if new regulations were passed in the time that they had the home inspected and you are now having it inspected.

    The other thing is that the bank is doing this for your protection.
