I bought a pair of 36" floor speakers for my dorm room and when I turn up the volume or bass the one starts buzzing. It sounds like the cabinet itself is loose but I have been unable to find anything. Please Help!!!

  1. maybe its a used speaker,Like returned because someone might have blown it.Maybe you blew it.or it is possible the cabinet has  a problem.

  2. It could be a loose crossover inside the cabinet.

It could be the there is no crossover inside the cabinet so either the tweeter, midrange, or woofer is receiving frequencies it can efficiently play which is causing the speaker to flex beyond its capacity.

Try adjusting the EQ on the receiver to a range above 80 hertz.  If there is no EQ setting try adjusting the bass tones down.

If you know it is not the speaker itself causing the rattle then most likely there is a loose component inside the cabinet.
