Florafern tipped to win Coral Backing Poppyscotland Mares´ Handicap Hurdle
Florafern is tipped to win Coral Backing Poppyscotland Mares´ Handicap Hurdle at Ayr in England on Friday, April 20, 2012. The winner of the class-2 race will walk away with a cash prize of £10,010.
Going will be good in the 3 mile 110 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 17:05 GMT, and a total of 12 entries have been confirmed for it. Their names are as follows: Florafern, Ambrose Princess, Miss Kalifa, Nanna Maura, Glenora Gale, More Equity,
Leith Walk, Cinderella Rose, Loch Dhu, Delightfully, Micro Mission and Easter Vic.
Looking at the good stamina of Florafern, the bookies have awarded her with the best odds. She likes the longer distance races, thus the punters will also be interested in placing a lot of bets in her favour.
The seven-year-old mare has participated in four hurdles until now, winning one of them. In addition to that victory, she has also managed a runner up place once, which shows that she is quite capable of challenging her rivals.
Importantly, the Oliver Sherwood’s trained runner is carrying very good momentum right now, as she was victorious in her previous outing. She was rated as favourite in that event and managed to dominate the rest of the pack, winning the race by a comfortable
margin of five lengths.
Florafern will be partnered by Leighton Aspell, who has won 58 races over hurdles. However, the seasoned jockey needs to improve the overall strike rate in order to attract more bets.
Another runner expected to do well at Ayr is Nanna Maura. She has entered five races over hurdles, winning one of them. Other than that, she has also finished runner up on a couple of times, which shows that she is a fierce competitor.
The seven-year-old mare has performed well in her recent outings, thus she is also carrying terrific momentum. She finished runner up in her last race and might attract some bets in her favour.
The J. J. Lambe’s trainee will be partnered by Barry Geraghty, who has won 135 races over hurdles.
