Florence is the most beautiful city ever. Make sure you go to "Galleria Dell'Accademia" to see Michelangelo's David: he's to die for, you will be gobsmacked, nothing compares to it.

Florence is like being in a masterpiece, do some research and plan ahead so you do not waste any time when you are there.

I lived in Florence for 4 months and absolutely loved it.

The Piazza de Michelangelo has the best view of the whole city. It is excellent at sunset. The Bobli gardens are beautiful. The Uffizi Gallery is a MUST! It has all the famous art. Grab some gelato in the Piazza della Signoria right near the entrance to the Uffizi. Ponte Vecchio at sunsey is gorgeous. Go to an Italian opera, it is very culurally interesting.

San Lorenzo market is great. It is right near the Maria del Fiore/Duomo. On Tuesday's, go to the Mercado delle Casine (7am to 2 pm) in the Parco delle Cascine this is the biggest and cheapest market in town. Try to get some tickets to a futbol (soccer) game. It is unreal how into soccer the italians are! Another great cultural experience.

Try a Rick Steves book. He has some pretty good suggestions. Hope that helps some!
