The midfielder explained that Les Dogues are still trying to develop the much required team chemistry, and with the constant departures of older players, it gets a little difficult to maintain the co-ordination among the players. He said:
"The older lads have certainly been affected, there's no hiding that fact.”
The departures of several important players such as Eden Hazard, Adil Rami and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salomon-Kalou-c32266 still finds himself struggling to settle at his new club. Balmont
stated:
"A lot of important players have left in recent years and especially in the last year and a half. Changes are taking place, but we need to try and focus on performing well in the second half of the season.”
The 32-year-old blames the club’s financial problems for the sale of star players. He stated that Lille OSC along with several other French clubs find themselves struggling due to their respective financial woes. The former OGC Nice player said:
"We are surprised by the extent of the changes because you don't expect that when you win the double and things are going so well. But we need to prove on the pitch that there is still quality there."
The veteran went on to defend the new arrivals at the Grande Stade Lille Metropole, saying that the players need time to adjust with their new club. Balmont ensured that the club will eventually find its way back to their good form, but Les Dogues would
require time. He said:
"New players always need time to adapt."
