Florent Hassambay occupies Men’s 100m butterfly gold – 2012 Indian Ocean Meet
Florent Hassambay of France occupied gold medal of the Men’s 100m butterfly on day one of the 2012 Indian Ocean Meet in St. Paul, Reunion, on Friday, December 28.
Hassambay remained prominent over his opponents from the start and succeeded in outsmarting his challengers over the finishing end for gold medal.
His notable pace placed him considerably ahead of his challengers from the start as he sprinted his way towards the finishing end for gold medal with an effort of 55.45 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Kevin Lucian of France, who was 1.45 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and posted an effort of 56.90 seconds for silver medal.
The second position holder was followed by Julien Bayle of France, who remained only 0.04 seconds slower and touched the wall for bronze medal by producing an effort of 56.94 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Bayle’s team-member, Aurelien Aubras, who was 1.92 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end with the timing of 58.86 seconds.
Aubras was traced by Jereme Dijoux of France, who was more than half a body length behind and ended fifth in the race by touching the wall with the timing of 59.50 seconds.
Sixth spot of the event was obtained by Pierre-Yves Desprez of France, who was 0.53 seconds behind and concluded his race in a time of 1 minute and 00.03 seconds.
Desprez was followed by Arnaud Incana of France, who tried hard to improve his position in the playoff but failed to do so. Incana remained 0.10 seconds slower from his former finisher and tapped the wall for seventh position with an effort of 1 minute and 00.13 seconds.
Last spot of the event was obtained by Shane AH Siong, who stayed 0.18 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 00.31 seconds for eighth place.
In addition, Hassambay received a huge round of applause from the audience for his notable form and told that he would try hard to accomplish the title of same discipline in future events.
