Florent Malouda asks for new contract, Robinho urges Ganso and Neymar to move to Europe
Malouda wants contract extension
Chelsea winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838 revealed he had had meetings with the Blues management in an attempt to get a contract extension.
With the way things stand, the 30-year-old winger will be out of contract at the end of the 2013 season.
The Frenchman said he was hoping to receive a contract extension, which would keep him at Stamford Bridge until the end of 2014.
Malouda said in an interview:
“I have asked to prolong (my stay) several times. I have had two meetings with the chairman.
But the club's policy is to sign players beyond the age of 30 one year after another. That is my situation.
I would like to have a contract until 2014, with the World Cup an objective in my mind.
I would like it to be clear for everyone. I am aiming to end my career at Chelsea.”
Recent rumours suggest that 33-year-old striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 had been offered a contract extension, which will keep him at the club until the end of his career.
It seems Malouda wants something similar, he admitted he was looking to stay at the London club and end his career with the Blues.
According to the French winger, he has already had two meetings with Bruce Buck, the Chelsea chairman, but nothing had been decided.
Malouda signed with Chelsea for £13 million in the summer of 2007 from Ligue 1 side Lyon. Despite a slow start, the Frenchman made his way into the first team.
In his four seasons at the club, Malouda has made a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747 of 180 appearances in all competitions and has scored 42 goals.
This season Malouda actually went to score more goals than striker Didier Drogba in the Premier League, 13 as compared to the Ivorian’s 11.
He has indeed been in terrific form and deserves a contract extension, however, he will be 31 years old this summer and it is highly unlikely the club will want him to stay.
