Florent Malouda hopes to end career in Brazil
Florent Malouda has stated that he would like to finish up his career in Brazil.
The French winger joined Chelsea from Lyon in 2007. After a difficult start to his career at Stamford Bridge, Malouda has found his form and flourished under Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Malouda has been in fantastic form so far this season. The Chelsea midfielder has scored six goals in seven games in the Premier League.
The Frenchman has contributed to Chelsea’s 18 points this season and the team has only lost to Manchester City away from home. The 30-year-old is under contract with Chelsea until 2013 and is happy at the club.
Despite France’s disastrous World Cup the midfielder would like to play for his country in the next tournament. Malouda was one of the players who stood by Nicolas Anelka after he was sent home from the World Cup in South Africa.
Malouda’s relationship with Raymond Domenech was not a good one, but the winger has put his poor form in the tournament behind him and has started where he left off at Chelsea. The poor showing by France has not put the Chelsea midfielder off and Malouda
has aspirations of playing in one more World Cup.
The winger said, "I am going to finish my European career in Chelsea, but my ambition is to finish at the highest level possible and play in the next World Cup in 2014.”
Malouda will consider moving to Brazil at the end of his contract and said, "It would be great to play for a club like Flamengo or Vasco da Gama. It is something that I want to do in my life. I would like to play some football in Brazil, the true country
of football."
If Malouda can continue to maintain his form he will have no problem realising his dream and a number of clubs will be interested in his services.
