Florentyna Parker a strong English contender in Indian Open lineup
English Florentyna Parker, who currently stands at the 22nd position in the Order of Merit 2012, is able to inflict a defeat on rivals at the upcoming Hero Women’s Indian Open 2012.
The Hero Women’s Indian Open is scheduled to be staged from November 30th to December 2nd, at DLF Golf & Country Club, New Delhi, India, but Parker will be among the key contenders likely to shine at the three-day battle.
Although the field at Indian Open will be hard to subdue as most of the top-ranked Ladies European Tour (LET) stars have confirmed their participation.
Defending champion Caroline Hedwall of Sweden is ready to repeat her last year’s performance, which will make things difficult for stars like Parker who are struggling to end their winless stint in the current season.
The last tournament Sanya Ladies Open 2012 saw Parker display a decent performance, although she could not finish inside the top 10. Having shot a total score of 214, the English golfer finished tied for the thirteenth position on the leaderboard.
Despite failing to impress her fans, the LET titan has performed well in some of the tournaments.
The Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open 2012 was the scene of a tough battle, which saw Parker come close to winning as she posted a 213 to take the share of second position with another player.
Parker faced a big challenge in Scotland when she matched her skills against the likes of Scottish Carly Booth and Catriona Matthew. At first, the contenders seemed equally matched, but when Booth and other key stars ramped up pressure, she had to settle for the second position.
Her fiery form did not stop there, as she was ready to relish yet another strong finish at the Deloitte Ladies Open. She posted an overall 215 to take the 10th position on the leaderboard.
It will not be easy to defeat players like Carly Booth and Caroline Hedwall in India, but there are other plenty of contenders whom she can give a tough time to.
Swedish Pernilla Lindberg, who is also seeking to end her winless stint, poses a threat to rivals. But it remains to be seen how she beats the odds, with Spanish Carlota Ciganda and German Caroline Masson battling for the Order of Merit 2012.
