Florentyna Parker goes after place in Solheim Cup Team
Motivated by the Ryder Cup, Florentyna Parker really desires a spot in the Solheim Cup. The Solheim Cup is the women’s equivalent for the Ryder Cup and will take place in Ireland next September.
It is there the European ladies will face their counterparts from America. Watching the European Ryder team crush the Americans has inspired Parker to take part at Killen Castle next year.
Currently, she is 12th in the standings for the team. However, she will need to stay in this position. Parker achieved this due to her amazing win at the ABN AMRO Ladies Open, which was her first European Tour Title this season. This victory has
definitely opened up doors for her and made it more probable of Parker getting a spot in the Solheim Cup team.
Parker said that this target hadn’t been ‘realistic’ enough until she had won. Now that she has a title attached to her name, it is her target to get onto the team.
With so much passion in her, the 21-year old will try her best to play in the European Tour and control her desire to play in the United States. Florentyna’s second season is already going very good. Now with the European Tour going to the Far and Middle
East, Parker wants to finish in the top ten in the Order of Merit.
“I have three more events left, two in China and the last one of the season is in Dubai”, said Parker. The most recent tournament ahead is the Sanya Ladies Open that will start at Yalong Bay Golf Club on Hainan Island in China.
Parker said that she is surely working on improving her game. She is focusing on her putting and her short game. Before the long-haul tournaments begin, the player took some time off so she could catch her breath.
“I took two weeks off after my last event in Spain, which was nice”, she added. “So now I am well rested and ready for my last events of the year”.
Right now, Parker is pleased with the way the season is going. She said that the way she handled pressure, took control of the situation and finally won the tournament was just amazing. Doing really very well as an English amateur international, Florentyna
has very quickly learnt the ways of a professional tour player.
Overall, Florentyna Parker feels good and has amazing plans and dreams for her future on the Ladies European Tour.
