The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 player is still shocked to be playing for the Rhone giants, after signing for the Ligue 1 outfit this summer
The 23-year-old attracted a lot of suitors following a number of impressive performances for Ligue 2 side, Nantes last season.
There were several clubs in race to attain the services of the highly-rated striker. However, Olympique de Marseille managed to secure Raspentino’s signature, with the Frenchman putting pen to paper on a four-year contract with Les Phoceens.
And the striker has expressed his surprise at Marseille’s decision to go for him. While talking to ligue1.com, the former Agde player stated that he was in shock when the news reached him.
The 23-year-old said that he always dreamt of playing for Les Phoceens, and when he heard about Marseille’s interest in him, he didn’t know what to do.
“I didn't think for a single second I'd sign for OM.”
Talking about his decision to join Elie Baup’s side, Raspentino said that saying no to a club like Marseille, was never an option. The Frenchman knew that this might be his only chance to join his beloved club and he wasted little time in reaching a decision.
"When they came in for me, I thought this might be my only chance. I've just turned 23. There's no time to waste," the former Nantes player told reporters.
The 23-year-old said that Olympique de Marseille is one of the best clubs in the league, and he is honoured to be a part of this great club.
"When you come from Marseille and you play for OM, you have no choice but to give everything. You have to sweat for the team.”
Florian Raspentino added that he is here to learn and he will do everything to be a success at Marseille.
"I know where I've come from and I know that two years ago I was playing amateur. I'm here to learn; I still have a lot to learn and hopefully I'll get the chance to play."
