A friend of mine who lives in Florida said that he has to pay for car insurance even though he doesn't own a car and doesn't drive his parent's car. Is it true that by law he has to pay for insurance just because he lives with his parents and they have a car (even though he doesn't drive it)? He is moving off to college soon will he still have to keep insurance even when he is not living with his parents? Someone please clarify Florida law for this situation. It seems almost disgusting to think that as soon as you get a license to drive you have to pay for insurance to even if you don't drive! Thank you for your help!
