  1. Florida is almost de-doomified, but there are caveats. the word evolution is preceded by "the scientific theory of" which is technically correct, but we all know how creationists love to dissemble over the word theory. So in effect, this is a win for them; they get to continue to lie over what the word theory means.

I’ll also note that "evolution" was included only by a 4-3 vote, which means that 43% of the board are at least creationist sympathizers (while members of the majority may also be, but were satisfied with the compromise wording).

And, of course, there’s the elephant in the room: the breathtaking inanity of people trying to vote on reality.

  2. I am from Florida. I have not heard of this , yet.  Do yo have a link you can give?

  3. This is why the US is starting to fall behind other countries,. While we are squabbling about teaching a religious theory in our classrooms or a scientific one, other countries aren't even bothering with this nonsense. They are teaching evolution and leaving religion to mythology or philosophy classes.

  4. Florida seems to be evolving.

Strange how People refuse the idea of Evolution and the various species of the world keep evolving around them.

Reminds me of my old drinking buddy King Cnut.

    (that wasn't a Freudian mis-spelling)

  5. Great! How stuck in the iron age is this planet?

It is unbelievable that in the year 2008 this is still a topic that must be faught for.

Scrap all of the fairytale lessons and teach the truth about this planet!!!!

  6. Well, it could hardly be more off the wall than all the nonsense Fat Al talks about global warming. They are both more religious delusions than scientific theories.
