Florida Panthers Kris Versteeg Cuts Loose on Labour Negotiations -NHL Lockout Update
Florida Panthers top level right winger, Kris Versteeg, may not have been as vocal as some of his colleagues in the National Hockey League (NHL) about the current lockout persisting, but finally came out and cut loose on where he felt team owners and Commissioner
Gary Bettman were going wrong.
Frustration is something that has shadowed everyone affiliated with hockey. Whether it is a player, fan or employee, the lockout has really created misery for everyone involved and they are looking for a way out as soon as possible to avoid wasting any more
time on it.
Kris Versteeg was taking to Bryan Hayes of TSN Radio 1050 Toronto and vented his anger on air about Bettman and Deputy Commissioner, Bill Daly.
"Obviously I'm really frustrated, It's not good," said Versteeg. "You do try to look at the best case scenarios moving forward once the CBA does get done and you gotta look for the cancers and you gotta cut out the cancer.”
"I think when you look at Bill Daly and Bettman they've been polluting this game for far too long."
He was also of the idea that both top league office bearers should also be changed when a new deal comes into place, since this is the third lockout people have witnessed ever since he took charge of the spot.
"Three lockouts. I don't know if he's in control of the owners or what he's saying," Detroit Red Wings Ian White continued. "Eight of the owners have to agree to have something passed - you'd think it would be at least 50 per cent. It just doesn't seem like
they're running a democratic process, if you will."
Kris Versteeg is a former 134th overall draft pick of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins and has established himself as one of the best in the league. He has played in five seasons in the North American major league up until now and
boasts 321 career games played along with 201 points, 88 goals and 113 assists with 198 penalty minutes.
The 26-year-old is currently locked on to a four-year, $17.6 million deal at the moment with Florida Panthers.
