Florida Panthers looking to keep moving with momentum from successful past season -NHL Update
Seeing Florida Panthers bounce back and become one of the best teams during the 2011-2012 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season was a very exciting time for not only the fans but for everyone associated with the hockey world in general.
It has always been one of those teams that people want to perform but unfortunately, every season turns out to be another struggler, harder than the one before it. The Panthers worked hard and finished at the third position in the Eastern Conference after
a very long time.
The playoffs were an exciting time for the people of Sunrise, Florida, since every season was one in favour of the Tampa Bay Lightning but this time, it was the Panthers turn to make an impact in the postseason. Panthers had a great run in the playoffs as
they nearly ousted the 2012 Stanley Cup Finalists, New Jersey Devils, and could not have expected more.
Now, with the upcoming season nearly here, Florida Panthers are looking to move on with the same momentum, increase it and eventually get deeper into the playoffs.
"We gave it our best shot and we were a goal away from moving on," Panthers general manager Dale Tallon said. "Who's to say what would happen in the next series? We don't deal in hypotheticals. We had a good year. We're very positive going into the offseason,
but we're not satisfied."
With a number of new additions, the new comers did not take much time adjusting and lifted the team almost immediately, which was spectacular for Florida in every sense.
"We obviously had a lot of new faces last year and one of those new faces included our head coach," goalie Scott Clemmensen told the team's website. "It created a very fun environment to be in and the team had some relative success throughout the season."
At the moment, Florida Panthers are thinking over whether grabbing Vancouver Canucks’ disgruntled goalie, Roberto Luongo, would be a good fit for the team and could be announcing a decision anytime soon. There is no reason as seen by fans due to the immense
improvement by Scott Clemmensen and Jose Theodore, but Florida might not hold back in that added depth.
