Florida Panthers play host to the Buffalo Sabres looking to maintain their winning record against Sabres this season

Florida Panthers will be playing host to the Buffalo Sabres in what will be the final game of Thursday. The teams have already played twice during the course of the season with Florida Panthers winning both games.
The first game was pretty much one sided which the Panthers won 6-2 while the second saw Buffalo Sabres come up with quite a show but unfortunately Panthers won the game 4-3 in the end. As the season moves and with just around two months left in the season,
things are heating up and every game is more and more important.
Buffalo Sabres are giving it their all coming up with their best performances. They have put quite a lot of pressure on the team ahead of them as with the consistent and regular performances that they shown. The Sabres are on quite a role as they have won
10 of their last 15 games in overtime and faced only one loss in overtime ever since the start of the New Year.
Florida Panthers have been going through some tough time recently and have lost four of their five games but still with the consistency they showed early on in the season they are still seven points off the final play-off position in the Eastern Conference.
Both teams competing in the game have a game in hand compared to the eighth place Carolina Hurricanes and a win would help them cut down the gap.
Florida Panthers was having a great time at the start of the New Year as they managed to score points in six straight games and were competing for a spot in the play-offs. However, things turned around in the second month where they haven’t been able to
match the performances losing games frequently. Though The Panthers were in the lead in their last game against St. Louis Blues but couldn’t maintain it and lost the game 2-1 in the end. This is the third consecutive loss for the Panthers even though they
led but lost the lead afterwards.
"It's exhausting on everybody because you're playing 60-plus minutes right to the end," Panthers coach Peter DeBoer said. "We've got to find a way to win these one-goal games."
Florida Panthers has played 53 games so far in the season out of which they have won 23 games in regulation time, 6 games in overtime and scored 52 points. Buffalo Sabres on the other hand has played 52 games out of which they have won 25 games in regulation
time, 5 games in overtime and scored 55 points.
Buffalo Sabres has been in good form recently as they have won last four out of their five games and they are looking to keep the pressure on teams ahead of them as they press on in search of a play-offs finish.
The most recent game saw the Sabres up against Tampa Bay Lightning. Both teams combined to score a total of 11 goals as Buffalo Sabres emerged as 7-4 winners of the game. The game is surely going to be entertaining and tough keeping in mind that they are
relatively similar in terms of points. But Buffalo Sabres have an edge after some recent success.
