Florida Panthers plays host to Ottawa Senators in the fourth and final faceoff – NHL Previews

Florida Panthers will host Ottawa Senators in one of Thursday’s games at the Bank Atlantic Center. This will be the fourth and final meeting between the two teams.
Out of the three games that have taken place between the two teams during the course the season, Senators has won all three games.
The last and most recent game between the two teams took place on 10th
March, which saw Senators winning a nail-biting game by 2-1.
Both the teams are out of the playoff’s picture and were among the most active teams in the league during the trade deadline. They occupy the bottom two spots in the Eastern Conference and with a win they would try to show that they are in the running for
the next season.
The game will be tough considering the fact that each would be trying to push the other team down. The players from both teams will be looking to come up with an impactful performance with only a few games in the season remaining.
Senators was among one of the worst teams in the National Hockey League until it managed to get things back together and pile up some brilliant plays.
Senators with some superb performance has emerged winners on 11 occasions in regulation time out of its last 19 games.
The wins have been against some of the big teams in the league. Most of the credit will surely go to the inclusion of Craig Anderson in the goal tending department for Senators.
Ever since joining Senators from Avalanche, he has won eight out of the last 13 games that he has played.
Senators was up against Tampa Bay Lightning in its last game which it lost by 5-2 in the end, but it will be starting a three-game home stand which would play an important role in the running of the playoffs.
Senators has played 77 games during the course of the season out of which it has won 29 games in regulation time and 10 games in overtime to score a total of 68 points.
Panthers has played 77 games during the season out of which it has won 29 games in regulation time and 12 games in overtime to score 70 points.
Panthers occupy the 14th position in the Eastern Conference but despite being above Senators it hasn’t been able to enjoy as much success as its counterparts.
It has lost its last five games with the most recent one against Columbus Blues Jackets.
Panthers has been poor in the last 22 games as it has come up with just two regulation time wins. However, it is expected to build up one of the better teams in the league when the next season starts and will be looking to make its way into the playoff’s
cut.
