Florida Panthers plays host to the Ottawa Senators in the third meeting of the total four this season between them
Another one of the games on Thursday will be Florida Panthers playing host to Ottawa Senators. This will be third meeting between the two sides out of the four scheduled meetings during the course of the season.
Out of the two games that have taken place already Senators have won both games outscoring Panthers 10-4.
In their last meeting, Senators came up with a dominating performance that saw them winning the game 5-1 in the end.
Panthers still have very slim chances of making it into the play-offs but if they start to perform the chances are bound to get slimmer even further. They have 15 games left to play and have nine points difference to cut.
Senators are starting another home stand during which they will be playing seven games against some of the best teams in the league. They include the likes of Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning.
In their most recent game against New Jersey Devils who are in top form, Senators came up with a lot of decent performances from several players.
Erik Condra scored twice during the game while goal keeper Craig Anderson also came up with a decent performance that saw him making 31 saves during the course of the game.
In the end, despite the away disadvantage Senators managed to win the game 2-1. The goal keeper has caught the eyes of many ever since he has moved to Senators from the Colorado Avalanche.
Out of the as many as has played so far in the season, he has maintaining a record of five wins and three losses. The offence of Senators is getting better but it is a little late but still encouraging.
Condra is one of the many new and young faces in the teams looking to impress and has scored four goals out of the 10 games he has played so far in the season.
Senators have played 66 games during the course of the season out which they won 23 games in regulation time and nine games in overtime to score a total of 55 points.
On the other hand, Panthers have played 67 games during the course of the season out which they have won 27 games in regulation time and nine games in overtime to score 63 points.
Goalkeeper of Panthers, Thomas Vokoun, has been in splendid form recently.
He came up with a 37 saves performance against the Chicago Blackhawks which helped Panthers to win the game 3-2 in the end.
However, their defence is still under questioning as they were ahead by three goals but allowed to during the course of the second period. The lack of concentration and relaxing are some things they would have to avoid if they are looking for a strong finish
to the season.
