  1. I use Colonial Bank.  I guess it really depends on what you are looking for out of a bank.  All I really cared about was free checking, no min. bal etc.. Plus you get one overdraft fee waived a year.  I also like that they are all over.  If you are looking into cd rates and mortgages I'm not really sure.  Wachovia is popular and so is bank of america regardless of what you heard.  Defintely dont keep your bank account because it's hard to do anything.Deposits are a hassle and atm fees kill you especially if you don't have a branch here.  It's easy to switch it over.  Usually you just go to your bank to close your account and they will give you a check. Then go to your new bank and deposit the check in your new account. Or you can open your new account and then call your bank to close.  call them,  They will most liking need something in writing but then they will send your check to you.  You can also wire transfer the money from your old account to the new (it's the quickest way) and then close (in person or on phone/writing)  Wire transfers are costly $15- $25 or so while just getting the check is free.

  2. I use Wachovia and I don't have a problem.

I know people that keep there old bank accounts when they move here and have no problem.  With everyone having check cards, and direct deposit - most people rarely see the inside of their bank now-a-days.  If you want to stay with Citizens, I don't see a problem with it.  Nothing you can't do via internet or phone.

  3. Banks in Orlando

Bank of America = does not suck I use BA I like it

    Wachovia

    5/3 bank

    Regions

    Washington Mutual

Banko Popular or something like that

  4. Another one to try is Fairwinds Credit Union.  They are all over, and they are pretty good.

  5. You heard right BOA does suck check out http://clarkhoward.com

Find a credit union close to your home.

    They are smaller and friendlier.

Banks are getting like post offices where you have few clerks and long lines.

Best thing to do is banking first thing in morning.

You can also compare banks by fees they charge.
