Florida state university?

Question

I have just been awarded admission with assistantshiop in Graduate in computer science at FSU. I have no other optons right now. But I have great grades and GRE scores. So I am not sure wheter I should go to FSU or wait for another semester.

My concerns are that if FSU is a good university. I expect with my academic records and test scores to get into 50-100 ranked US university. SO does FSU fit into that. ALso how is life after graduation? Is getting good job there easier. Also i have quite understandable fears about the weather and hurricane in particular. How probable is a hurricance hitting Tallahassee?

Oh by the way I am an Asian Student.

Do you know the phrase "a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush"? In other words, you have a good offer in front of you but only the prospect or possibility of a better one later on. FSU is fine and your chances of being killed by a huricane are remote. Go for it.

Hi.  I graduated from FSU in 2003 with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and I must say that I LOVED my time there.  FSU is a very good school with nationally recognized programs and professors.  One of my friends majored in Computer Science and has a VERY good job with a one of the top companies in the country.  There is a huge career fair held every spring that many Fortune 500 companies come to to recruit new employees.  Many of my classmates had summer internships with these companies and was hired after graduation.

As for the weather, we never had concerns with hurricanes.  Tallahassee is quite a ways inland, so we only had to deal with rain and not so much the wind damage.  Only once in my time there did it rain enough to cause some flooding issues.  

The student community is very active, and there is an organization for almost any type of culture, volunteer activity or hobby you can think of.
