Flower garden stencils?

How do you make flowers form designs and words in the ground? I have seen this and would like to make one with initials in front of a restaurant, in the garden but have no idea where to start. Would you use stencils on the ground?

  1. Method 1:

If you want really nicely shaped letters, just print them and cut them out, then position them and use marker paint, or flour  around the edges, lift off the stencil and plant inside the lines. They're going to have to be pretty big becasue the flowers will spill over the side and blur the lines.

In Corel Draw you can "tile" a big design, when printing so it prints on lots of sheets, they you would tape the tiled pages together and cut it out.

    Method 2:

Section the ground into squares by laying down square  wire with a large (six inch) mesh.

In Corel Draw, impose a grid over your graphic, number the left side in letters and the top in numbers, then copy square by square to the corresponding squares on the ground using flour or marking paint.
