Flowers for indoor windowsill?

Hi,

I have a large windowsill in my kitchen which I would like to fill with potted flowers, the kitchen faces North.

What would be good?

I have a north-facing kitchen window and not much can grow there.  I have an aloe vera and a jade plant.  The aloe vera is for burns, just in case we need quick ointment.

If it were a south-facing window I'd have herbs like basil and cilantro growing.

I have 3 african violets on my window sill - I love them there!

why not use herbs,  they smell great and in the kitchen would be a plus to your cooking.  You could add pansies for color as they are also edible.  have fun experiment,  try other edible flowers and amaze your friends
