I have four squash plants, all with huge flowers. However, some have the beginnings of a squash on the stem and others have just the flower. Should I pick off the flower with no squash or just leave it as it is?

  1. The squash come from the flowers..leave them on

  2. leave the flowers!! they make the squash some grow later

than others. All you do is destroy the new plants that

    are coming!

  3. Don't Pick!  The ones with just the flower are the male blossoms, and the ones with the "squash beginnings" are the female flowers.  They need to pollinate in order for you to get vegetables.  The bees need to do their thing with the blossoms.  You can also pollinate them yourself with a small paintbrush.  If you just have all male, or all female blossoms, you do the math.  You will have no produce!  Don't pick the leaves, either.  The "squash babies" feed off of that.  Be patient, and you will get some nice veggies!  Good luck!

  4. Once you have 4 to 6 Squash starting, pinch off all other blossoms and stuff with some kind of filling.  Dip in egg and flour and quick-fry.  Yummy!!!

  5. Leave it as it is. It will be about another month still. The flowers always come first and are normal.

  6. Leave the flowers. It's possible that they'll still produce squash.
