I have a Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 L i have a Original 40's series flowmaster muffler.

I was looking in to the Super 44 flowmaster i like the sound but dont know if i should swap it, will it sound much different , should i even bother doing it, and if so i have 2.5 inch pipes so i would then need to get the muffler that requires 2.5 inch pipes? and will this alter my E -test at all? swaping the muffler from my previous vehicle made me fail the Emmisions test, i think they had done somthing to the Cat? Thanks

  1. I have an 07 ram with a hemi.  I also have a 40 series flowmaster on my truck.  I had mine done in Alabama by this old guy who has been doing this for like 40 years and he said that other than the 40 series every muffler flowmaster has built has problems.  So he puts the 40 on everything unless people are just stubborn and insist on one of the others, then he tells them that they will be back in within a year to get a 40 series, and he said they usually are.  So if I were you I would just keep what I have.  Hope this helps.

  2. the muffler has nothing at all to do with emissions it is strictly for sound.. you will be able to tell a  slight difference in sound im sure but it will not be anything major.. yeah you can get a super 44 with a 2.5 in/out on it whether you are getting duals or not
