Floyd Mayweather: I don’t worry about the Pacquiao fight not happening – Boxing News
Floyd Mayweather Jr., the current WBC welterweight champion, spoke through a conference call about his upcoming out against Miguel Cotto. Floyd Mayweather, who had a media workout session as well yesterday, is keen on letting his fans know how magnificent
this fight is going to be.
Floyd said, “When Cotto or any fighter looks at my UStream workouts, they have to say “I can’t watch this. It will throw their focus off if they watch how hard I work. There’s no fighter that’s dedicated like I’m dedicated. I have the will to win. I’m the
reason why they don’t talk about heavyweights anymore. I don’t worry about the (Pacquiao) fight not happening. If it was really all about Pacquiao then i wouldn’t have had to fight 42 other opponents. I’d just fight Pacquiao and become the greatest in the
world. But it isn’t just about Pacquiao. It’s about everyone I’ve fought.”
Floyd, who is usually talking against Pacquiao, left no stone unturned this time as well to make the Filipino feel degraded. Floyd added that even though Pacquiao has done a lot in the sport, he still should stand behind him to clean up the sport. He added
that he is the type of person who tries to turn every negative into positive and that when he sees his family, team and fans he gets motivated. Finally, the unbeaten American boxer spoke about his jail term, which will start in June. According to Mayweather,
going to jail will make him mentally stronger and it is just an obstacle for him like everyone else.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be fighting Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto on May 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The fight will have Cotto’s WBA super lightweight title on the line. Floyd Mayweather is unbeaten to date. Therefore, this match against Cotto can be
either his career’s first defeat or his 43rd victory.
Judging by Mayweather’s confidence, it seems like he will easily overpower Cotto in the ring. Mayweather is a speedy fighter with great resilience, which is where he can take an edge over Cotto.
