Floyd Mayweather Jr. believes Manny Pacquiao is desperate – Boxing News
WBC welterweight titlist Floyd Mayweather Jr. is once again on the verge of bashing Filipino fight sensation Manny Pacquiao verbally. According to the unbeaten American fighter, Manny Pacquiao is desperate to face him as he has suffered career breaking losses
recently.
“You have to realize this, in my opinion, Manny Pacquiao is desperate. He doesn’t make his own decisions because Manny Pacquiao has a boss, his promoter that makes his decisions,” said Mayweather.
“Once you take a loss and you’re on a decline… whether he got cheated or not, his stocks drop enormously after taking a loss. No matter how you took a loss, you took an L,” added Mayweather.
“My fights? They’re putting the official numbers out there. HBO always puts the official numbers out there, right? They don’t show his numbers at all. Come on, man. Those are fake numbers,” he added.
On the other hand, Pacquiao believes Mayweather is avoiding the fight, since he is the only threat to the unbeaten American’s crown.
According to Pacquiao, if the fight does not happen by the end of 2013, it will never happen. Not just Pacquiao, even his trainer Freddie Roach is of the same view.
Roach is a Hall of Famer trainer, three times trainer of the year in the past four years and is currently the most successfully boxing trainer in the industry. He is not just a widely respected figure but also someone whose predictions are widely accepted,
as most of the time they are correct.
According to Roach, the fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao can happen next year but not after that, as both fighters are on the verge of retirement. There are chances that both of them retire by the end of 2013.
Since Pacquiao has agreed to accept any condition put forth by Mayweather, it seems like the unbeaten American is the one who is trying to avoid the Filipino. According to most boxing analysts, Pacquiao has nothing to lose against Mayweather but the latter
does. Mayweather might be afraid of Pacquiao, since he knows the former WBO champion is the only person who can bring a defeat in his portfolio.
