Floyd Mayweather: Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito are cheaters – Boxing News
Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto were present at a press conference yesterday, 27 February, in order to promote and talk about their super-fight scheduled for May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather took the opportunity to throw some harsh words
on Miguel Cotto’s previous opponents.
While boasting about his skills and his hard work, Floyd Mayweather said, “One man has to rise to the occasion and that will be me. Floyd Mayweather is not a cheater like Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao. Hard work. Hard work. Hard work.”
Floyd Mayweather, Seven-Time and Five-Division World Champion, made the utmost of the event by throwing words on people who are already upset with him. Last week, news of Manny Pacquiao filing a suit against Mayweather surfaced. Mayweather and his uncle
Roger Mayweather has accused Margarito and Pacquiao of using steroids to enhance their resistance and power during fights. While most of us thought matters are now working out in courts and that the ‘Mayweathers’ will now play the silent role, it seems like
Floyd has something else on mind.
While Floyd was playing ‘lowbred fighter’, Miguel Cotto hung onto his decency. Cotto did not really comment on his past or future opponents instead he chose to limit his words to his preparations saying, “I will prepare as never before to defend my title
on May 5 in Las Vegas and return to Puerto Rico on May 6 as champion. I guarantee it.”
As of now, both the fighters are all ready to take on each other on May 5. With their enthusiasm and their fighting spirit, one can easily say that the bout will be one of the most enthralling ones of 2012. Cotto, the current WBA Super Welterweight World
Champion, won his last fight against Antonio Margarito to prove himself worthwhile. The rivalry between Cotto and Margarito had gained more than expected hype. When Cotto won the fight, it meant the world to him, at least that is how he puts it. On the other
hand, Manny Pacquiao, a cheater according to Mayweather, is scheduled to take on unbeaten Timothy Bradley on June 9, 2012, at the same arena.
