Floyd Mayweather Senior says he believes on what he remarked about Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
The senior member of the Mayweather clan, Floyd Mayweather says he believes on what he said about the eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao regarding the use of illegal substances.
Richard Schaefer and Oscar ‘The Golden Boy’ De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions both accused the Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao, with the use of performance enhancing drugs. However, Pacquiao, who is the first boxer the history to win ten world
titles, has settled his defamation lawsuit against both men.
Meanwhile many people wanted the Mayweather clan to apologise to the champion, as Mayweather family went to the extreme in accusing Pacquiao. However, Mayweather senior is still sticking to his words, as he says a man of Pacquiao’s size cannot do that much
damage naturally. He also commented on Oscar De La Hoya and said he apologised to Pacquiao because he is his manager.
“Let me tell you this right here. Have you ever seen a man that small doing what he’s doing in all these weight classes? That’s all I want to know. They are apologizing because Oscar is Pacquiao’s manager along with Bob,” he said.
The 61-year-old Mayweather also discussed on Oscar’s fight against Pacquiao, which Pacquiao won with a technical knock-out after eight rounds. He said Hoya has his own opinions about what happened with him in the ring but he is not going to agree with him.
He stated even if a few people are going to apologise to Pacquiao for changing everybody’s mindset, he is not going to do so.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “That’s what they wanted to do and if they wanted to play like that, it’s ok. It’s ok for people to get away because that’s what they believed. Oscar has his own opinion of what happened in that fight and how he
took the punches he took. If Pacquiao wants people to apologize to make other people believe things, I don’t know. I’m telling you man, whatever happens, whatever I said is what I believe.”
