Floyd Mayweather Sr.: Manny Pacquiao not using performance-enhancing drugs now – Boxing news
Floyd Mayweather senior, who is the father of five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., has claimed the Filipino star Manny Pacquiao is quitting the use of performance enhancing drugs
ahead of his fights in order to get ready for his son and therefore his performance against Juan Manuel Marquez was so bad.
Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation World Welterweight Champion (Super Champion), recently on November 12, 2011 beat the Mexican Dinamita, Marquez, via a controversial twelve round majority decision
at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and Mayweather Sr. thinks Pacquiao showed lacklustre because this time he fought naturally.
The undefeated American legend, Mayweather Jr., who holds a perfect record of winning all of his 42 professional fights, including 26 of them coming by the way of a knockout, has not fought Pacquiao since long due to their dispute over random blood-testing.
Mayweather told On the Ropes Boxing Radio, “It seems like to me like maybe they’re getting ready for little Floyd. So when you’re getting ready for little Floyd maybe he’s getting down, and Pacquiao knows he’s about to take the test and maybe he’s just coming
down off of things. And hey! It just shows you he’s going to get his a*s whopped!”
Mayweather Sr. in the end claimed if Pacquiao, who is currently rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, had fought his son in a similar way he would have been knocked out.
Mayweather added, “I guess they’re talking about the May fight. It looks like he’s trying to come down to fight my son, and if he comes down any kind of way to fight my son looking like that—little Floyd will beat him with blindfolds on! I know he ain’t,
but I’m just telling you right there.”
Pacquiao versus Mayweather Jr. is certainly one of the most eagerly awaited bouts in the sport but Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, instead of setting up a super-fight, is trying to set up a fourth fight between his man and Juan Manuel Marquez.
