Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto think Shane Mosley stands a chance against Manny Pacquiao
The undefeated fighter, Floyd Mayweather, who is also known as Pretty Boy, thinks Shane Mosley can pull off an upset on Saturday by beating the People’s Champ, Manny Pacquiao.
Mosley and Pacquiao will be one-on-one in their Mega match for the WBO Welterweight title and the match between the two pugilists will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
34-year-old Mayweather believes that if Sugar Shane (46-1-1, 39 Knockouts) puts in the same level of performance he produced two years ago against Antonio Margarito, he has a fair chance to win. Shane defeated Margarito in January 2009 with a knockout in
the 9th round but since then he has only struggled.
Mayweather in an interview said he is not certain that Mosley would win the bout if he fights as good as he fought with Margarito, he has a chance. He also added that he does not think Mosley is the same fighter he was once but still if he is able to bring
his best performance back, he can shock the world.
WBA Junior Middleweight champion, Miguel Cotto, on the same note has also supported Mayweather. He said, “I’m going for a decision, either way. It’s a tough fight for both, but when you put two warriors in the same ring, you’re going to watch a war.”
Cotto, who defeated Mosley in 2007 by a controversial twelve round decision and then lost to Pacquiao by a twelfth round knockout in 2009, also stated that Mosley would not be an easy opponent for Pacquiao.
He said Mosley has a great chin and would not go down easily. Moreover, he also believes that the 39-year-old Mosley is faster than Pacquiao’s last opponent, Margarito.
The fight has already drawn a huge crowd and now all that is left to see is if Mosley can really do it.
