Floyd Mayweather claims Manny Pacquiao gets big paydays because of him – Boxing news
Floyd Mayweather, who is a five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council Emeritus World Super Welterweight Champion, has claimed the eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super
Champion), Manny Pacquiao, keeps himself attached to his name because he knows he gets a big payday this way.
The Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao, is currently set to take on the Mexican Dinamita, Juan Manuel Marquez, for the third time in a much-anticipated bout on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mayweather reckons Pacquiao
is using his name in his pre-fight press conferences in order to get a big payday.
While speaking on his inclusion, Mayweather told Blokely, “So I'm wondering if he has a press conference for his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, why is Floyd Mayweather's name coming up? I'll tell you because as long as he's attached to my name and fighting
my leftovers, he's going to make great paydays.”
Mayweather is currently set to face the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion, Victor ‘the Vicious’ Ortiz, on September 17, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Manny ‘the Pac-Man’ Pacquiao’s promoter, Freddie Roach, thinks Mayweather
has set up a match with Ortiz because he wants to warm-up before stepping in against his fighter.
The undefeated American legend Mayweather, who has won all of his 41 professional fights, with 25 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, also responded to Roach’s statements.
“On one note Freddie Roach and Team Pacquiao don't want me to say anything about them at all. So much so they're taking me to the courtroom but I prefer the court inside the squared circle,” Mayweather added.
The Mayweather-Pacquiao bout is currently one of the most eagerly awaited bouts in the sport because people desperately want to see both of the boxing’s best taking on each other. Let’s wait and see whether this gets on the cards or not.
