Floyd Mayweather claims he will beat Victor Ortiz before the final bell rings – Boxing news
The five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Emeritus World Super Welterweight Champion Floyd Mayweather has claimed he will beat the current World Boxing Council’s World Welterweight Champion Victor Ortiz before the final bell
rings.
The Pretty Boy, Mayweather, will take on the Vicious, Victor Ortiz, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The undefeated American legend, Mayweather, who holds an unbeaten record of winning all of his 41 professional fights,
in which 25 of his wins came by the way of a knockout, is fully confident of protecting his unbeaten record.
Mayweather told the media he always puts in a lot of hard work and therefore there is no one out there who could match his skill level.
He said, “When it’s all said and done, nobody’s skills can match mine. Don’t no fighter in the sport work as hard as me. This fight is not going the distance.”
The chief of Golden Boy Promotions, Richard Schaefer, however has a different point of view. Schaefer believes Ortiz will be the first man to beat Mayweather in the ring. Schaefer also stated he has never seen Ortiz so much prepared before.
“He’s actually more relaxed than I’ve ever seen him. He is really calm, cool and collected. I’ve never seen him like that,” Schaefer said. “He’s mentally prepared, he’s physically prepared. He’s coming here to win and retain the WBC title. He knows he has
the tools, he has the power, and the youth on his side. That’s what he’s going to show the world on Saturday night.”
The Ortiz-Mayweather bout is certainly going to provide a lot of entertainment as the 24-year-old Ortiz also holds a record of winning 29 of his 33 professional fights (2 Draws), with 22 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout.
Let’s see if Ortiz can really create history by becoming the first man ever to beat Floyd Mayweather.
