The undefeated American legend, Floyd Mayweather, who has won all of his 41 professional fights, with 25 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, has claimed he is not returning to the ring because of any financial interest but he will be in action just
to please his huge fan base.
The five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council Emeritus World Super Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather, is set to take on the current World Boxing Council’s World Welterweight Champion, Victor Ortiz, on September 17, 2011 at the
MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
The 34-year-old pugilist, Mayweather, is going to be seen in action after a long time as he is returning to the ring after almost a break of one and a half year and the boxing’s best revealed his fans are the reason for him to come back.
Mayweather told t he media he will try his level best to put on a great show for his fans like always as he wants to see them happy.
“The fans are what brought me back to the square circle,” said Mayweather. “I knew that they waited long enough to see me fight again. So when I step into the ring against Victor Ortiz on September 17, I plan on giving them another great performance. It’s
the only way to make them happy. It’s the Mayweather way.”
Mayweather, who has been a world champion on-and-off since 1998, in the end stated he has always had a great time with his fans and it means everything to him.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I have had some great times with my fans over the years. My fans know that when I fight, it is a mega-event, and they wanted to be a part of it, which means the world to me.”
The Mayweather-Ortiz bout will certainly be an explosive one as the Vicious, Ortiz, also holds a record of winning 29 of his 33 professional fights (2 draws) which includes 22 wins by the way of a knockout.
