Floyd Mayweather reckons Manny Pacquiao does not want to fight him – Boxing news
The five-division world champion and currently the World Boxing Council Emeritus World Super Welterweight Champion Floyd Mayweather has claimed Manny Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion
(Super Champion), will not fight him.
The undefeated American legend, Mayweather, who has won all of his 41 professional bouts, with 25 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, reckons the Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao, will not agree to the Olympic-style sampling, which demands
blood sampling right up until the hours before the fight.
The 34-year-old Pretty Boy, Mayweather, told the media he does not have any hard feelings for Pacquiao or his promoter Bob Arum but he personally thinks they will not want to fight him, as they will never do the Olympic-style drug sampling.
Mayweather stated he wants to fight him Pacquiao but he demands is a proper drug sampling and that is all.
“You've got to ask yourself this. I don't have anything against Manny Pacquiao. But is it Manny Pacquiao or Bob Arum [Pacquiao's promoter]?” Mayweather said.
While speaking on his inclusion, he added, “It is what it is. I'm not here to say nothing negative about Bob Arum. I'm not here to say nothing negative about Manny Pacquiao. He do what he do, I do what I do. All I ask, as a gentleman, let us both take the
test and let's fight. It's obvious [Pacquiao] don't want to do it.”
The 32-year-old Filipino, Pacquiao, who has won 53 of his 58 professional fights, with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, initially refused to Mayweather’s Olympic-style drug sampling, as Pacquiao believes giving away blood so close to the fight
will take away his power. However later on Pacquiao and his camp agreed to Mayweather’s request and Pacquiao even went on saying he will fight Mayweather in 2012.
Pacquiao and Mayweather bout is the most eagerly awaited bout, as the winner will be crowned as the best pound-for-pound boxer on the planet. Let’s hope this fight gets on the cards, as it will certainly break all the grossing records.
