Floyd Mayweather thinks fans need not to discuss Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
Floyd Mayweather, who is a five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion, reckons the boxing fans in the United States should not be discussing about the eight-division world champion and the current World
Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), Manny Pacquiao, as the undefeated American legend believes it will add to Pacquiao’s hype.
The 34-year-old Mayweather, who holds an incredible unbeaten record of winning all of his 42 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, told the media Pacquiao only comes to United States to make money.
“It's all about the red, white and blue. Pacquiao comes in this country, he makes money, and he takes it back to his country, to feed his people,” Mayweather said in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid.
Mayweather versus Pacquiao is one of the most eagerly awaited bouts in the sport currently. However, it has not been finalised as of yet as Mayweather wants Pacquiao to do Olympic-style drug testing and the Filipino star does not want it, saying giving blood
just an hour before the fight will affect his stamina.
Therefore, Mayweather claims his super-fight with the Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao, would have taken place if the Filipino star wanted it to.
“We say, be the best, take the test,” Mayweather said. “If Pacquiao really wants to fight, it would've happened already. Why are we even speaking on this man? He's irrelevant.”
Mayweather also commented on Pacquiao’s much-anticipated upcoming bout with the Mexican Dinamita, Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
“Manny Pacquiao fought Marquez twice already, and Pacquiao knocked Marquez down a few times,” Mayweather said. “I took 2 years off and fought Marquez, and it was easy work.”
Mayweather and Pacquiao have never met in the ring because of their terms and conditions. Let’s hope these two boxing’s best come together and sign a contact, their fight will certainly break all the grossing records in the sport as of yet.
