Floyd Mayweather will not be able to see Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley – Boxing News
The current WBC welterweight champion, Floyd Mayweather jr. is currently serving his 90-day jail sentence at the Clark County Jail in Las Vegas. He is just a five minute drive away from the MGM Grand, where his long time rival Manny Pacquiao will defend
his WBO welterweight title against unbeaten American fighter Timothy Bradley. Even though Floyd Mayweather was excited about the fight, unfortunately he will not be able to watch it live.
Floyd Mayweather does not have access to television, telephone and computer in his solo jail cell. However, he surely has become a popular prisoner and has been receiving lots of mails after someone posted his inmate number and address on social media website
Twitter.
Police officer Bill Cassell spoke about the issue. He revealed, “He's gotten some mail and a couple of books. There has been some contraband that has been stopped.”
He further revealed that Mayweather is being separate from the other prisoners/inmate at the Detention Center. Around 3,200 inmates are present at the facility. He added, “We don't want to have an opportunity for someone who wants to make a name for himself
to challenge him.”
Since Mayweather is America’s most popular fighter today, he can be a victim of baddies in the facility waiting to take him down. Mayweather will be completing his sentence by August, and plans are that he might face Amir Khan next as his opponent.
Earlier last month, Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, revealed that Amir Khan might get a chance to face Floyd Mayweather, if he is capable of proving his mettle in his upcoming fight. Back then, Amir Khan was scheduled to face Lamont Peterson
in a rematch for the IBF and WBA super lightweight titles. However, as the match has been cancelled, Khan will now be facing a tougher opponent, Danny Garcia on July 14. If Khan beats Garcia then he definitely will be the number one choice to go head to head
against Floyd Mayweather. However, if Khan fails, chances are that he will not just lose his chance to stand against the American great, but he will also lose other prominent future opponents.
