Fluctuate aiming for his maiden win in 32Red.com Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Wolverhampton
Fluctuate made a promising start to his career earlier this month, finishing third in the Swan At Lavenham Wood Ditton Stakes at Newmarket.
After a decent performance last time out, John Gosden’s trainee is full of confidence, looking to seal his maiden success at Wolverhampton on Monday, April 30, 2012.
The novice colt will be in action in the 32Red.com Median Auction Maiden Stakes, scheduled to commence at 17:55 GMT. The 1m141y event holds a purse of £2,264, which is reserved for the ultimate champion.
Among the confirmed entries for the class 5 meeting are: Fluctuate, Idyllic Star, Bridgehampton, Mighty Motive, Temuco, Voodoo, Polly Pease, July Specialists, Craniac and Gravie.
In his debut appearance, Fluctuate missed the runner-up place by a short head’s distance. He has an obvious chance for the top prize today, but it would not be an easy trip for him. Idyllic Star is also desperate for the first
success of her career.
The 3-year-old made her debut in July last year, when she finished fifth in the Christal Management E B F Maiden Fillies' Stakes (Div I) at Newbury. Since the filly could not improve her work after that, she displayed an equally
poor show the following month.
The 32 For Bingo EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes saw her ending up fifth on the table. J. S. Moore’s trainee is coming back to action after a long gap. She will be full of energy and therefore, one can expect her to do some damage
today.
Bridgehampton is another powerful runner, who is yet to grab his maiden victory. After a break of more than seven months, the three-year-old returned to the racecourse on April 17, when he failed to make an impact.
Membership of Southwell Golf Club Median Auction Maiden Stakes saw him falling fourth by 25 lengths. It would be an uphill task for Michael Bell’s trainee, but his chances cannot be overlooked.
The stats show that Fluctuate has the highest chance of winning today. Idyllic Star seems to be the only big threat to him and if he manages to control her, it would be a straightforward win for the colt. We wish the best of
luck to everyone.
