Our old TV (10-15 years) still has a good picture but the volume will increase and/or decrease with no external prompting it seems. Even if we have the sound turned all the way down, it will at some point jump up to unbearable levels and we are not able to turn it back down. Turning it off and then back on makes no difference. Incidentally, we have not been able to control the volume for quite some time with a remote but have had to use the control on the TV itself to do this. Any idea if this is something that can be fixed, or should we just trash the TV? Actually, we have replaced it already with a bigger flat screen TV but would like to use it in a bedroom if we can get this problem fixed.
