I have a 1990 Chevy Blazer, I bought it with a lift kit. The thing is like 3 feet off the ground to get in anyways..... The left rear tire is leaking some kind of lubricant or fluid. It is not red. It is like what motor oil looks like when it's new. Is It bearings or someting? Also I checked my fluids level and there was a sort of box with two rubber gaskets that says min. and max. they were almost empty, the box was only marked as "ZF" I did not inherir the owners manual. Thanks to anyone!!!!

  1. that's probably a wheel cylinder thats leaking on it,when they get old or worn out they will do this, they will also leak if the shoes get worn down to far and it lets them run out too much, when you replace that one do the one on the other side also ,always replace those in pairs never just do one side, the pressure from the master cylinder will usually make the other one go out not long after you replace the one, good luck with it.

  2. it is either brake fluid or gear oil. if you smell it and it smells like a strong sulfur smell, that is gear oil, at the same time if you look at the path that the fluid has traveled to reach the ground, over painted surfaces specifically, if the paint flakes away very easily. it is more than likely brake fluid. by the description of the box under the hood, it sounds like you are describing the master cylinder, as long as it is more to the driver side of the engine bay bolted to a big metal disc (for lack of a better description). if that is very low, do not drive and look into a brake inspection. you could have a problem if you drive the truck.

  3. It could be a wheel cylinder leaking brake fluid or a axle seal leaking oil but it sounds like a brake line from your details

  4. tires don't have fluids in them.

that thing is your brake fluid Reservoir

    its low

the fluid is leaking from your brakes onto your tire

  5. probably a wheel cylinder leaking.

  6. My husband says to take the rear drum off and follow the brake line to the back brake cylinder.  Easy and inexpensive to replace. Remember to bleed the brakes after you replace it.  Good luck!

  7. Brake Cylinders for the Read Brakes need to be Rebuilt ot Replaced! Remove the Rear Drums and they are on the top of the Backing Plate.

  8. The Wheel Cylinder is leaking (badly) and before you know it your going to press on that brake pedal and it will go straight to the floor.  Your going to need new wheel cylinders, brake shoes and probably drums. Don't wait, do it NOW!

  9. wheel cylinder and that little box that says min/max is the fluid reservoir for the brake system and the reservoir is hooked to the master cylinder..............autozone.com has online repair manuals to help you the parts cost 10.00 use the manual for step by step instructions and diagrams
