Fluid comming from my belly button?

I noticed that my belly button felt sore a few days ago. When I went to feel it, I noticed that it had a clear liquid in it. It was also foul smelling. The liquid was making my belly button sore and very red as if it was irritating the skin. I try and wipe away the fluid put if it is left there it turns crusty like puss does. I clean it and it still has this foul smelling odor. What could this be caused from? I know it is gross!

Sounds like an infection. I had the same thing happen after I had laproscopic surgery. The incision wasn't healing and it started running and became very sore. I had to clean it with a solution of half water and half hydrogen peroxide. I had to saturate a cotton swab and stick it into my belly button to clean at least twice a day. My doctor also prescribed antibiotics. It took a couple of weeks to totally heal.

Do you have your belly button peirced?

If so, it might be infected.
