this was my 3rd attempt and i still can't get through highschool... i can't seem to pay attention to anything for too long and this has always held me back at school... my mom kicked me out.. shes a single parent and we usually lived off her boyfriends' cash... she gets into relationships with rich guys who spend cash on her... she doesn't work.. my schooling was being paid for by my dad and he stopped sending me any cash last year and the only reason i was in school this year was because the whole year was already paid for... the reason my mom kicked me out is because her new boyfriend told her he doesn't want me around the house... right now i stay at friends' places and i know i can't stay there always... what options do i have??? should i just get a low wage job or something? i really have a problem on concentrating on anything.. even tv... what should i do?

  1. go back to school and see a school psychologist and get in special ed class.

  2. 1. Go and register with your local dept of labor office. THey will help you get a job.

    2. While there, ask them is there any other agencies that help get jobs. There usually are.

    3. Since you can't concentrate you probably have ADHD. I know lots of people don't 'believe'in this.

If you can get a doctor diagnosis saying you have ADHD, you can take this diagnosis in writing to a local

'job rehabilitation' office and they will help you get training and a job. You can ask the dept of labor office for information on this.

    4. Keep looking in newspapers for jobs.

    5. Go to classes to get your GED.

My daughter has learning problems and coudln't understand the school work. She quit school and took classes to get her GED and she said it was SO MUCH better than school.

The teacher actually sat with her and HELPED her understand her work.

Regular schools don't do this, as you already know.

    6. Get information on ' Job Corps' . My little brother is doing this. They say he has to be away from home for 2 yrs.

Do you have any other family to help you? I am so sorry your mom is doing this to you. She will regret it later, believe me.

  3. Try getting yourself tested to see if you have any attention problems. If you have a proffessional opinion you should be able to get extra help. It sounds like you may as you even have a problem concentrating on TV.

You could also go to somewhere that helps with housing this will help you with the housing side and half your worries. You'll probably still have to pay some rent but you may be eligible for benefits from social security.

You may also be able to get tutoring through the same organisation or a simalar one that can find you a house.

If you already have problems paying attention in school then you may not be able to get a very good job. This will also not help you in the future as the higher paying jobs usually require an education.

However if money is an issue you may be able to work and study part time (depending on your age.)

If you want to study part time you will probably have to go to an adult education centre.

  4. I really pity ur position..... u try meditation, yoga and improve ur concentration power.... do part time jobs and study  side by side.... Qualifications are very important. it will help u in the future.... try ur best.. watever u do concentrate in it... do ur job with a positive attitude.... Think u can...u surely can... Try ur best and leave the rest to GOD... All the best. u can do it if u try to....

  5. Well first thing, you admit you don't pay attention so your solution is to know your problem and fix it, set your mind on it, think about the bad stuff comming along your way if you don't fix anything at all and try to fix that problem by paying attention no matter what. Your heart tells you what to do, not the people around you.
