  1. Many think that the fluoride content in tap water is reduced by boiling. But fluoride is an element, and will not be reduced to other, less active components.

    Instead, the fluoride will be concentrated. The water evaporates, but the fluoride doesn't, so there's less water and the same amount of fluoride, increasing the fluoride concentration.

    The only way to significantly reduce fluoride in tap water is to install a special filter. Reverse osmosis also works, but it's a time consuming and expensive process.


  2. Boiling eliminates just about everything from water and it also increases the mineral content.

  3. fluoride is not in all water -check with your local water department if you are concerned.
