Fly-Time during nesting???

Question

Generally speaking our little keets have their free 'fly-time' in and around the house from 8am-9am and then again at 12noon-12:30; immediately after going back in the cage we set the cage outside for fresh air for about a half hour to an hour. Should this schedule change due to the new conditions. Kiwi (the mom) has not really been interested in flying? Is this normally part of nesting? Could this schedule be an interrupting distraction to her? I wish I could think like a keet. My daughter and I want her to be comfy and happy. There is sSOOO much to learn.

If they are nesting with eggs you should not be letting them out of the cage at all and you sure should not be moving their cage in and out of the house for fresh air so to speak. You will do this 1 too many times and they are going to abandon the nest all together feeling they are not stable enough to raise babies who may try hatching.

Get a book from the library on keets and just read up on them.

i would say not to touch the birds or move them when they are nesting i read your other question. You can talk to them but let the birds get there exercise in the cage and leave them to sit on the eggs.
