Fly with a dog from Scandinavia to NY and then to LA?

Im going to NY for a few days and then from NY to LA. I want to bring my dog with me, but its different laws and regulations for bringing a dog to the U.S. My dog weighs about 6-7pounds so i can have it with me in the cabin. Can anyone help me find the regulations or laws that is for this trip? and all the fees etc.etc. Because i aint that good at computer and have a hard time finding what im looking for!

  1. It is not the USA that will be a problem, but returning home with a dog which has been out of Scandinavia might proof difficult.

    The USA also has restrictions but they are mostly less strict.

    You can also call on your vet and see if he has info on international travel with dogs.

    The other place you need info is the airline you want to use.

    Different airlines have different rules, and different sizes of pets, dogs included, have different rules on many airlines.

  2. On the American side, it appears that the rules vary from carrier to carrier. Check the link I've provided, which is the "traveling with pets" page of the American Department of Transportation. You should be able to find all the advice you need from there.
